Orchids are the most highly evolved plant! An insect will pollinate one orchid, and then fly to another orchid, even if it's 5 miles of away (hidden in the thickness of a rain-forest).
The insect won't touch another plant in between.
That's commitment!

Another plant romance is figs and wasps. Fig trees have exclusive relationships with specific wasps. I can understand! They're pretty tasty. I have been giving the fig tree a lot of love that's outside my tent.
(when the wasp isn't looking of course)

This one-on-one relationship between figs and wasps makes the trees more vulnerable to climate change.
Giving your heart to ONE is so scary. But if the figs can do it, maybe I will someday..

Ginkgo Biloba has been around for 200 million years! But the other members of its phylum (ginkgophyta) have all gone extinct since about 65 million years ago.
Do you think it misses its family?

And this tree is all over our parks and city side streets because it can handle poor conditions. I imagine it must be pretty wise by now.
One of Ginkgo's medicinal properties is helping your memory. Emi thinks that maybe this is because IT remembers the earth from long ago.
I bet it has a lot of stories to share!

The birthday girl, Chloe, breathes in a flower.

The forest is a place for the old and the young.
Here are the kids in TLC's Nature Camp.
